Stop Playing Small
This is an open letter to all the creatives out there. We need you and your work. Every time a person steps into their purpose and shares their gifts, the world is better for it. It’s time to stop playing small, and start playing BIG.
Playing small means…
· being afraid of criticism
· being afraid of rejection
· failure keeps you from trying
· waiting for someone to ask/give permission
· undervaluing yourself
· feeling like you have to be 100% ready to do the thing before you jump
· putting aside what you really want in the name of comfort/convenience
Playing big means…
· understanding that criticism helps you grow
· accepting you won’t be everyone’s cup of tea
· knowing failure is how we learn
· acknowledging your talents and skills are valuable and desirable
· believing in your worth
· appreciating that temporary discomfort can lead to amazing things
· trusting you can do the work, even when it’s hard
· celebrating your wins
I love helping creatives figure out how to take their dreams and play BIG. If you need help making changes to start playing big, I offer one on one and group creativity coaching sessions. For creative entrepreneurs I offer branding and logo design to help you look professional and take the guess work out of marketing materials. I’ve also founded the Art is a Record Creatives Community on Facebook. It’s a great place to connect, ask questions, and share your work. Send me a message if you want to schedule a time to talk.
In an effort to foster a creatives community I’ve started a Facebook group called Art is a Record Creatives Community, the same name as this blog. I would love for you to join in the fun as we discuss creative living, projects, art, and life.
