Logo Reveal: The Potter's Hand

Today, I am thrilled to share the design story behind the new logo for The Potter’s Hand. This unique blend of a Christian boutique and a future coffee shop has been a delightful project to work on, especially with Rochelle’s clear passion for her business.

Rochelle's vision for her boutique and coffee shop centered on warmth, comfort, and a welcoming atmosphere. She wanted a place that felt like home—a serene and inviting space where everyone could feel embraced. The logo needed to embody these sentiments while being versatile enough for use across both boutique and coffee shop settings.

The concept of the name "potter's hand" played a significant role in our design process. Drawing from the thought of God as the creator and us as the clay, we aimed to represent the idea of molding and shaping individuals into their best selves. This spiritual and comforting notion guided the creation of a logo that symbolizes care, craftsmanship, and transformation.

We landed on a logo featuring a clay mug with hands wrapped around it in the negative space, perfectly blending the boutique and coffee shop identities. The mug symbolizes the cozy, comforting feel of a coffee house, while the hands represent care and creation, aligning with Rochelle’s Christian values.

The logo suite includes several variations to ensure versatility, allowing it to be used seamlessly on signs, merchandise, and digital platforms.

We developed a color palette inspired by clay and coffee, which lead us to warm neutrals, emphasizing earth tones that evoke a sense of coziness and natural beauty. These colors not only align with the boutique’s aesthetic but also create an inviting and serene atmosphere.

While The Potter’s Hand will sell Christian merchandise, jewelry, and gifts, the goal was to create an environment welcoming to everyone, regardless of their beliefs. This inclusive approach is reflected in the modern, clean, and inviting design of the logo.

The Potter’s Hand currently operates online and out of SoCal Threads in Bay City, Michigan. I know Rochelle’s big plans will have her on the move in the near future! You can also follow the shop on Facebook.

We hope you love this look as much as we enjoyed creating it. Here’s to the next chapter for The Potter’s Hand, where faith, warmth, and community come together.
