I’ve been creating color palettes in this blog capacity for over a year now! It’s been really fun exploring color in this way and seeing how all the hues work together. Color is powerful. It’s expressive. Today, rather than a theme as I typically do, I just want to explore the color red. It’s a primary color. It’s bold. Red is associated with love, passion, and also aggression, which one might argue is still passion. It’s a complicated color. Intense.

What It Takes To Be A Painter

Artists put too much pressure on themselves. Not all of your work will be a masterpiece, and that’s ok. You won’t be proud of everything you make, and that is good. That means you took risks and tried new things. We have to be willing to try things that scare us. We have to be willing to be bad at things. Even if you never master whatever it is you’re longing to do, at least you can say you tried, and you can always keep trying. We have to be brave and do it scared. If your project fails, you are not a failure.

Cranky Coloring Free Printables

I’m all about a good inspirational quote, but I’m also all about honoring your feelings. If you’re feeling sad, or angry, or cranky, let yourself experience those emotions. Don’t dismiss them or force yourself to act happy if you’re not. False positivity drives me batty, but remaining optimistic is always a good goal. Right now is a hard time, and though I do fully believe in the optimism of “This too shall pass,” I also fully understand sometimes you just need to let out a big annoyed, “UGH…”
