Logo Reveal: Creative 360

When I heard Creative 360 was moving to a new location, I thought to myself, “I have to ask!” I’ve never approached a business or nonprofit about a rebrand before. I always let people come to me because I don’t want to risk offending the original designer or the organization that may be attached to the current look, but I stepped out of my comfort zone and just asked.

Creative 360’s executive director, Laura Vosejpka, is also co-chair of Public Arts Midland, so our paths are continually crossing. We had a meeting about another project and I casually mentioned that, since they would need all new signs for the new building that this would be a really great time to update their logo. She agreed, consulted with the board of directors and it was decided to move forward.

For this rebrand Creative 360 wanted something fresh, accessible, and alive. They needed versatility too- something that would work in both circle and horizontal formats, and something that included their new tagline: inclusiveness, creativity, respect, community.

Creative 360 is all about opening doors for people and providing space to help people realize their dreams. I wanted to give them a logo that felt dynamic and interesting, but was also bold and clear. After looking at several initial concepts the board connected most to the labyrinth like C with a center circle graphic- The C for Creative and the circle for 360.

Because everything they do is so rooted in inclusion I wanted to try something with a full color wheel. The full color spectrum in a bright rainbow style turned out to be the favorite. On black it resembles neon, which is excellent because of the Neon Ball Creative 360 hosts and the neon sign that was just made for their downtown gallery! It was also very important to them to have all text high contrast for people who may experience visual disabilities, so all the text is black and white for the highest contrast possible.

As you can see from the images here, they now have a wide variety of choices that are all clean and consistent, and dare I say fun. I wish the Creative 360 team all the best at their new location at 5501 Jefferson and continued success at the downtown gallery on Ashman St, as they continue to bring more creative opportunities to Midland!
